Opatija was built to receive guests. The useful question is which hotel can sleep the list, hold a dinner if the wind comes off the gulf, and still let the Lungomare remain a walk rather than a transfer.

Liburnia presents Hotel Kvarner as the first hotel built on the Adriatic coast, in 1884, on the Lungomare. The house publishes 55 rooms and suites, and a Crystal Hall it names for weddings, business summits and concerts. Wedding receptions in that hall are given as up to 400 people. The terrace, with direct access from the hall, is published for receiving and cocktails. A smaller Yellow room is given as 40–50 places.

Four hundred at a reception and fifty-five bedrooms are not the same night. The inner list can sleep in the historic house; a larger celebration already needs neighbouring beds — Villa Amalia is published next door as a 24-unit annexe with access to Kvarner’s services. That is two buildings, still one stretch of promenade, if the outline is written that way.

What changes the planning

This remains a working four-star hotel unless exclusivity is separately agreed. Entire-property use is not published. For celebrations where greater privacy is required, the possibility of exclusive or partial use would need to be explored directly with the property. Why we would consider it

A five-star Liburnia house above the beach and the Lungomare, with 243 rooms and suites. That key count is the operational argument for a larger international list: one address, breakfast, a spa, an indoor heated seawater pool and an outdoor pool, and a congress hall the house gives as a banquet facility for up to 515 people.

Weddings are published: restaurant, garden, or the terrace by the outdoor pool overlooking the Adriatic, with a reception after the ceremony on that terrace. House wedding language includes organisation, menus, and a celebration until 4:00. Those are hotel service notes, not a guarantee of every configuration. The 515 banquet figure is a hall capacity. A wedding seated number would still be confirmed.

A contemporary house in Čikat Bay, among pines the island has used as a healing climate since the nineteenth century. Lošinj Hotels & Villas publishes weddings as a product: a dedicated specialist, menus, preferential room rates for the celebration, and customised proposals for gatherings from 30 up to 200 people, available on request. A large conference hall is given as 360 seats. Indoor and outdoor seawater pools, a managed beach and a spa clinic are published.

Two hundred on request is not a seated guarantee. It tells you the house will discuss scale. A published room total was not taken from the pages consulted; it is not claimed here. The argument is an island weekend that still has hotel infrastructure — breakfast, a rain room, a desk — rather than a scatter of villas around the bay.

What changes the planning

Lošinj is not Opatija. Guests have already chosen water, or a longer road, to be here. The island should not become a mandatory continuation for a wedding that was chosen because an Opatija hotel could hold the group. If Čikat is the destination from the first night, write the arrival as the architecture.

How the gulf sorts itself

A historic hall, a larger riviera house, or the island bay

Hotel Kvarner is the ballroom and the first-hotel history, with fifty-five keys and a neighbouring villa. Ambasador is the list: two hundred and forty-three rooms and a published wedding terrace. Bellevue on Lošinj is a different geography — pines and a bay, with a wedding desk that will discuss 30 to 200. They are not three versions of the same riviera postcard.

The Kvarner guide still decides whether the gulf is hospitality or a crossing. If the brief is wine country held by road, that conversation is Istria.
